We Are Staying … For Now

by Chris Garrett on June 3, 2007

For years we have been trying to find a way to move to Canada. While my daughter and I have Canadian citizenship and it would be simple for my wife to be sponsored, we always wanted to take along my parents and it just hasn’t ever worked out. We have looked at all sorts of approaches but in the end we have called it a day. Financially we just can’t manage it since the house prices have rocketed and there is a real risk my parents would get over there and sell up only to be told to go back to the UK.

So we are buying in the same home town where we live and shelving the dream … for a while. We have been here before, going, stopping, going, stopping. Never say never.

I’m not going to give up. We will still take vacations in Canada. You never know, we could get there sooner than it appears, I might win the lottery or something :)

It’s a tough thing to engineer such a move. But we’ll always be here. Waiting for your next visit…
