No need for me to reiterate what has already been written, you can see my last post on the topic here, look through Performancing, or Darrens posts or look in Technorati for some background. Enough to say PayPerPost, a much disliked company (rightly or wrongly), were going to buy Performancing.com site and the Metrics product but as in Nicks PayPerPost Deal is Off post
After much discussion, we’ve decided that the deal proposed by PayPerPost just isnt right for us or our community.
I’m can’t spill any inside scoop on this but I will give my opinion.
- I am pleased because I don’t think the two communities, Performancing members and PPP members, actually overlap or make as good a fit as PPP assumed they would.
- I’m looking forward to an open source Metrics and I will work on it given time
- For me the best news is that Performancing.com is staying with Nick. We put a lot of work into building the site and community, with a terrific group of members. The Performancing domain and brand is hopefully still a valuable asset
I’m not one to dwell on negatives so I am looking forward. I know when Metrics goes off-line it will be disappointing but I also know that an open source Metrics will be be very valuable.
Nick is recommending people switch over to using Feedburners stats product. I think that will be a good idea for a lot of people. Personally when Metrics switches off I will start coding a single user “Mini Metrics”, open source efforts have to start somewhere!

Well, it has been sad since Metrics closed but open source really holds great promises. Ill be eagerly awaiting any mini metrics development!
Wish you the best Chris!
