For the first time I am writing this in my lunch hour. Why? Because I am pissed off.
It seems like ages since a group of us said “Hey, let’s all go see Star Wars.”
Because nothing was being done to arrange things I found out all the details, found out who was interested and said I would book tickets if everyone got their cash to me well in advance.
We were originally meant to have been going tonight. Hah!
Luckily it got put back to saturday, so we could go for a meal afterwards, but have I seen any money? Not a penny.
I aint putting 13 tickets on my credit card without the cash to pay it off. Am I being a git? Probably. Cutting my nose off to spite my face? Yeah. I know now we are just turning up and hoping to get seats I am less likely to get in, and if I do it will be a shit seat, but now I know why Sea gets so stressed organising meets.
It’s just not worth it.
Never again. I am going to forget about trying to arrange gokarting and paintballing too. In future it will be a small group of 4-5 people and we will arrange it and book it all at the same time. No arguments, no hassle and no one person singled out to arrange things.
I hope we get in, and I hope we get good seats. I don’t hold out much hope.
. . .
Checked out Raz’s new domain properly today, MatrixCity.org – pretty cool stuff :O)
What really struck me was how much work he has put in. He has really busted a gut on it, and not much seems automated either.
So now I feel I really should do something with my own site (which is breaking down) and another site I should really be working on, atvrd.
As before, knowing how little enthusiasm I have for doing html, I will automate and template things as much as possible. Bits are working now, like the database driven journal, other bits don’t work at all, like the guestbook. I need to go through everything and fix links and paths, to get it like it was at the old host, then I will re-do everything from scratch. Things are made a little easier as I have Cols handy search and replace tool – although I wish it could Undo too ;O)
Good thing is the new web space is running NT, and I have complete control of the server, so expect some really geeky web toys coming online!
