Do I really need letters after my name? Grumble

by Chris Garrett on April 6, 2004

It amazes me how many interesting jobs are sent to me by headhunters, recruitment consultants and well-meaning contacts. I have no problem with this – in fact it is something I would like to encourage smile – other than the fact everyone always assumes I have a degree. I don’t. This automatically disqualifies me from 99.9999% of the interesting jobs I could go for even if I wanted to.

Is there only me thinks it strange that if I was a graduate, say with a degree in pottery, then my CV would get into the pile but right now it would end up in the bin? Or maybe I really am being stupid and of course I must be a dimwit unless I am a “bachelor” of something?
