Sitting on the dock of the bay
Sittin’ in the mornin’ sun
I’ll be sittin’ when the evenin’ come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch ’em roll away again, yeah
I’m sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I’m just sittin’ on the dock of the bay
Wastin’ time

Dorothy and Freddie
Our guides around the North East, Dorothy and Freddie have so much personality you just need to point a camera at them and you get a great portrait. I hope we have so much energy when we get to their ages …
Dappled Woods
Bamburgh Castle Beachcombin
It might be absolutely freezing but the north east coast has some beautifully rugged scenery and one of the best looking castles in the UK.
Diving In
This chap was called “Chambers”, despite the freezing cold water at the 15c temperature of the dock he enjoyed repeatedly diving and the adulation it bought him.
Sometimes you have to just dive in if you want to enjoy yourself, no matter the weather or what your head tells you is sensible.
Angel of the North
This sculpture by Antony Gormley towers over the A1 motorway and is one of the signature landmarks of Englands North East.
