For the Soccer Fans

November 15th, 2008

I am not a fan of soccer, or what they call around these parts “football”. To me it is a boring game, not enough action or violence, but I know a lot of my friends and family do enjoy it for some bizarre reason, so here is something you might enjoy.

Best Ways To Watch Live Football Online

watching live football ONLINE has become the answer to most football fans’ prayers. The quality varies, and the speed of the live football stream depends on your internet connection, as well as the live football site’s own traffic. However, regardless of the quality, watching live football online is much better than missing the match, and if you have the right equipment, it can be just as good as watching on television.

Bob Willerton’s Tips to Prevent You Being Shafted by Management

September 16th, 2008

Bring Back Bob Willerton! You might have noticed on Twitter and Facebook my mentions about Bob, a much-loved College lecturer from my old workplace, Barnsley College, being given the boot, a boot he did not really deserve.

Read more about it (and sign the petition please) at JusticeForBob

He has now embraced the intertubes and put this little YouTube together, and as well as an update on news, he gives his top tips for avoiding the shaft. If you are at risk of vindictive and political management, might do you well to take heed.

Another WordPress CMS Website

September 8th, 2008

I am just putting the finishing touches to Whites Recycling and Waste Management Solutions website and it makes me realize I have probably past an interesting (in a very geeky way) milestone.

Out of all the platforms and technologies I have ever used, I have probably created more websites using WordPress now. Anyone who uses WordPress is probably not surprised, but it is still quite a shock to me, when you consider a large part of my career was built around Microsoft technologies and until recently I was a Microsoft MVP for ASP/ASP.NET.

Another shocker is the fact only a few years ago a site with these capabilities would have cost tens of thousands of pounds.

I love WordPress, can you tell? :)

I was off with the family camping.

Or, rather, being flooded out of a tent.

The smell of stagnant water is still clinging to my nostrils, half the gear is still damp or muddy, and the experience of wet dog arse in my face at 5:30am will stick with me forever.

Still, we had a laugh.

Internet Stars and their Cars

Internet stars and their cars!

Never one to pass up an opportunity to embarrass myself, I have been featured in a roundup of internet personalities and their cars.

Makes for interesting reading, just skip over the bit where I reveal how many times it took to fail repeatedly pass my test, ok? ;)

Happy Birthday to Me

July 29th, 2008

So the other day I asked for suggestions for my birthday, both here and on twitter. As always you didn’t let me down and I got lots of ideas.

I don’t know what the day will hold yet, but I did roll up some of the recommendations into the post you see over at my proper blog. You didn’t think this was my proper blog did you? Nah, this is just some silliness, a brain-fluff delivery system ;)

So thanks for all the ideas, and I will keep you posted how the day actually turns out :)
